Artphilein reopens the doors of its exhibition space La Piscina with a group show featuring works by ten international women artists from the De Pietri — Artphilein Foundation Collection, in dialogue with the large-scale installation “Yesterday We Were Girls” by Katie Prock.
From Saturday, October 11, 2025, to Friday, January 30, 2026, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in an alphabet of diverse languages and sensibilities, of different colors, united by a shared desire to question the relationship between memory and identity, fragility and resilience, earth and cosmos.
Prock’s work speaks of growth, maturity, and the redefinition of one’s identity, tracing the matrilineal heritage of her family: images are cut—like wounds—and sewn back together—like healings—becoming a metaphor for a process of resilience and transformation.
Around this work unfolds a constellation of works on paper by artists from around the world — from Spain to Denmark, from the United States to Ticino, from Germany to Israel, and all the way to Australia — each engaging with the same questions: how the past shapes the present, how familial and ancestral ties accompany us in our daily lives, and how fragility can turn into strength. The answers follow multiple directions, depending on each artist’s perspective and sensitivity.
