On Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm, Artphilein Foundation will inaugurate The Garden, an exhibition by
British photographer Siân Davey, curated by Greg Tiani and presented in its outdoor exhibition spaces in collaboration with Lenzburg Fotofestival, where the project was previously exhibited.
Conceived during a winter marked by both personal and collective crises, The Garden grew from an idea imagined by the artist’s son, Luke: to transform a long-neglected garden into a living space inhabited by wildflowers, pollinators, and people. Together, Davey and Luke cleared and revived the land, planting native species and caring for the space over time.
As the garden flourished, so did its community of visitors — neighbours, strangers, people living on the margins, individuals experiencing grief, or simply searching for hope. Each person became part of a shared narrative shaped by intimacy, belonging, and transformation.
The garden thus becomes a metaphor for a possible form of humanity: generous, inclusive, and free from division. In an increasingly oppressive social and political climate, The Garden affirms the possibility of cultivating spaces of dignity, listening, and coexistence.
