Artphilein's purchase: "Fräsen" by Francesco Del Conte
De Pietri - Artphilein Foundation is pleased to announce the acquisition of two works part of the series Fräsen
realized in 2018 by Francesco Del Conte.
The two gelatin silver prints are an edition of 3 + 2 AP.
Francesco Del Conte
(1988, Milan) lives and works in Turin. He studied graphic design and printmaking at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin. He has been experimenting with silver gelatin photography since he was very young and in 2012, he moved to Belgium to achieve a master's in fine art photography at the Hogeschool Sint-Lukas, Brussels. Depicted with an apparent distant approach, everyday objects, industrial and mechanical tools, suburban areas and views of the sky are some recurrent subjects of his projects.
In 2016, he was invited by the Centre for Contemporary Art CCA Kitakyushu to attend a research program in Japan. This experience turned out to be very important for his research, which became more and more focused on subjects characterized by formal and sociocultural interests. His photographs, produced always with B/W film, stand out for an objective style that paradoxically shows an enigmatic and contemplative atmosphere.
Francesco Del Conte has won national and international prizes and fellowships and his work has been exhibited in Italy, Belgium and Japan.
